Supreme Court of India has dismissed the plea to stay the demolition of Muzaffarpur shelter home where minors were raped. Brajesh Thakur had filed this plea in Supreme Court.
Supreme Court had also appointed a medical board wich examined whether main accused Brajesh Thakur was subjected to to any physical or mental torture in jail or not. The result was he wasn’t subjected to it. Brajesh was in Patiala jail, and it was alleged by his family that he was being tortured.
Top court had rejected Brajesh Thakur’s plea by saying that it violates construction norms.
The Muzaffarpur shelter home case came into news earlier this year where minor girls were raped. It was TISS which submitted its audit report on sexual harrasment taking place in Bihar’s shelter homes. It was reported that 34 minors were raped in the shelter.
