Union Minister Smriti Irani has been accused of doing a scam in Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) Scheme. Congress has charged Irani with this accusation. Congress has cited an investigation report claiming that Irani has done corruption of crores of rupees in the work done by MPLAD fund.
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said in a press conference at Delhi’s party headquarters that Smriti Irani has done corruption. There is also a report of the collector’s investigation in this regard, in which the matter of corruption has come forward.
He said that even CAG mentioned it in its report about the corruption. It is to note that this matter is connected to a village in Anand district of Gujarat, which was adopted by Smriti Irani.
Surjevala claimed that, “CAG Report No. 4 of 2018 has exposed the corruption. According to this report, about 6 million rupees were paid from the MPLAD funds without any tender process, which includes a fake payment of 84,53,000 “.
The Congress leader said that Smriti Irani has done directly done corruption by ignoring the rules. He said that Congress party demands that FIR be registered in this case, and the entire matter should be examined. Along with that, Surjewala also demanded the resignation of Smriti Irani.
