Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the main accused of the Malegaon bomb blasts, has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). There are speculations that Sadhvi Pragya can be fielded against Digvijay Singh on Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.
It is to note that Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is the main accused in the 2008 Malegaon Blast case. She has been in jail for 9 years in this case. However, she is out on bail. 7 people were killed in the blast and around 100 people were injured.
Mehbooba Mufti has reacted to this news by tweeting, “Imagine the anger if I’d field a terror accused. Channels would’ve gone berserk by now trending a mehboobaterrorist hashtag! According to these guys terror has no religion when it comes to saffron fanatics but otherwise all Muslims are terrorists. Guilty until proven innocent.”

By her statement, Mehbooba Mufti meant that if some terror accused would have joined her party then news channels would already have termed her a terrorist. Her next line indirectly targets BJP leader Narendra Modi. She has written that for BJP there doesn’t exists saffron terror but all Muslims are terrorists. This is because PM Modi had said in a rally in Wardha that Nowhere in history will you find that Hindus are involved in terrorism. He claimed that there exists nothing like ‘Hindu terror’.
After formally joining BJP, Sadhvi Pragya said to the media, “I have formally become a member of BJP. I will contest elections and will win them too. I have support of Shivraj Singh Chauhan “.
Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath has also raised questions about Sadhvi Pragya’s involvement in BJP. He said that the involvement of Sadhvi in BJP shows the mood of the party.
